The Fox River Valley Initiative and Evergreen Real Estate Group hosted a community meeting on Monday night about the proposed Campana redevelopment.

The redevelopment of the Campana building offers a tremendous opportunity for Batavia and the entire Fox River Valley.  A spectacular historic icon along the Fox River since 1936, the Campana building is showing signs of its age.  Without a comprehensive redevelopment program to repair the building’s masonry, roofs, and other systems, it is possible that the building could deteriorate past the point of being repaired.

Evergreen Real Estate Group’s proposed redevelopment plan also brings much-needed market-rate and affordable housing to a community whose housing costs have risen rapidly in recent years.  By providing housing options for the local workforce, the Campana redevelopment will help ensure the vitality of the Fox River Valley’s economy.
